About the Job
LEMOINE is seeking skilled Restoration Technicians to join our team in response to Hurricane Milton. As a Restoration Technician, you will play a crucial role in restoring homes and businesses affected by water, fire, and storm damage in the Tampa, Florida area and surrounding regions. Your hands-on work will be essential to mitigating further damage and returning properties to a safe, livable condition. This is a seasonal position, offering a unique opportunity to help communities recover from the aftermath of a major natural disaster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, and moisture control using specialized equipment like air movers, dehumidifiers, and moisture meters.
- Carry out debris removal, demolition, and cleaning tasks to restore properties impacted by water and storm damage.
- Assist with mold remediation by removing affected materials, setting up containment areas, and performing cleaning and sanitization as needed.
- Clean and restore fire-damaged properties, including odor removal and surface cleaning.
- Operate and maintain equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform daily monitoring and documentation of restoration activities, including moisture readings, drying progress, and site conditions.
- Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks in alignment with project schedules.
- Handle contents pack-outs, wrapping, and inventory control of personal and business belongings.
- Assist in setting up containment zones for mold remediation and fire restoration projects.
- Follow company safety standards and OSHA guidelines to protect yourself, your team, and property occupants.
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients to provide updates on job progress.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of experience in water damage restoration, fire damage restoration, mold remediation, or a similar role.
- Preferred certifications: IICRC WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician), ASD (Applied Structural Drying Technician), FSRT (Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician), OCT (Odor Control Technician).
- Experience using restoration equipment, including moisture meters, dehumidifiers, air movers, and negative air machines.
- Basic knowledge of construction, demolition, and building materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically able to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods.
- Must be available for flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as disaster recovery projects require.
- Ability to travel to other disaster-impacted regions as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in hazardous conditions, including mold, mildew, and structural damage.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods while performing restoration tasks.
