About the Job
This position plays an essential role on a high-profile team tasked with strengthening revenue by continuously improving the interdependency of clinical and financial workflows. Revenue Integrity strives to prevent the recurrence of issues that can cause revenue leakage and compliance risks through ethical, effective, efficient, replicable processes and internal controls across the continuum of patient care, supported by the appropriate documentation and the application of sound financial practices that are able to withstand audits at any point in time.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, finance, or closely related field preferred
- Ability to obtain professional revenue integrity certification within one year
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook, and Windows applications
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Well-developed analytic and organizational skills, critical thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines while influencing, but not managing, the work of others
- Extreme attention to detail, with highly developed organizational and follow up skills
- Ability to use published materials and online references to accurately support charging, coding, and billing practices.
- Ability to complete complex tasks and projects with or without supervision and manage a number of competing priorities at any given time
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and tools
- Ability to review and interpret managed care contracts
- Ability to interpret billing guidelines and state and federal regulations.
- Proficiency in report generation and accuracy
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and institutional billing
- Knowledge of revenue cycle processes and various reimbursement methodologies
- Knowledge of the charge development process and the interrelationship of cost accounting, cost management, and related functions
- Willingness to pursue personal and professional development
