Short Description:
This position functions under the management of the Senior Risk Management and Insurance Associate to support and coordinate assigned risk management or insurance related activities.
General functions include:
- Medical record review, staff interactions, application of regulatory standards, hospital policies, and risk management/ insurance assessments.
- Participates and assists with special projects which may include planning and coordinating presentations,
tracking status of payment, updating location listings, insurance renewal documents and other activities
associated with the insurance program.
- Obtains and coordinates all information necessary in preparing insurance court appointed special medical and public guardianship documents and necessary supporting medical record documents.
- Excellent customer service skills serving as a patient/family advocate, staff advocate, and representative for the institution), strong interpersonal skills for communication with staff, visitors/ guests and external inquiries in a respectful and effective manner.
- Handles confidential and sensitive information and supports daily department operational functions as directed.
Project functions include:
- Ad hoc reports and projects upon request. This is a significant part of this position requiring excellent organizational skills, follow-thorough, attention to detail and enhanced computer skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize project activities.
- Provide problem resolution input and assistance in helping the department meet its goals and objectives by, for example, identifying opportunities for improvement to the Director or other staff members.
Experience Required:
Three (3) years' experience in a Healthcare, Risk Management or Insurance/ Finance, preferred.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program, required.
