The Robotic Welder/Programmer is responsible for operating and programming robotic welding equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and run time. This role includes programming robotic welders, diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures, and providing effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and be capable of recommending process and technical enhancements. Staying current with industry developments and changes is essential.
Job Responsibilities of the Robotic Welder/Programmer:
- Develop and optimize robotic welding programs based on engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
- Utilize programming languages such as G-code or proprietary robotic languages to create efficient and accurate welding paths.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and adjust robotic programs as needed.
- Set up and calibrate robotic welding systems, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of robotic welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with maintenance teams to address technical issues or malfunctions promptly.
- Monitor and inspect welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement quality control processes and adjust robotic programs to achieve consistent weld quality.
- Identify and correct defects or inconsistencies in the welding process.
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and guidelines for robotic welding operations.
- Maintain accurate records of robotic welding programs, adjustments, and maintenance activities.
- Generate reports on production output, efficiency, and any issues encountered during the welding process.
Education & Experience of the Robotic Welder/Programmer:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or degree in welding technology or a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in troubleshooting robotic/welding equipment.
- Experience in programming welding and robotic welding processes and procedures.
- Experience with inspection and sampling of incoming parts and raw materials.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
