Our dynamic and fast-growing finance firm is seeking a Permanent SALT Supervising Senior Tax professional to join our team. This unique and exciting role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in state and local tax (SALT) who is ready to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising tax associates, providing leadership and mentorship, and assisting with tax planning and accounting. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and is committed to providing exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent SALT Supervising Senior Tax professional, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Supervising and reviewing the preparation of federal and state tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
2. Providing leadership and mentorship to tax associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
3. Assisting with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability and maximize client satisfaction.
4. Ensuring the accurate and timely filing of tax returns and other tax documents.
5. Keeping abreast of current developments in SALT tax laws and regulations to provide informed guidance to clients and staff.
6. Providing training and development opportunities to tax associates to enhance their knowledge and skills.
7. Collaborating with other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality tax services.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent SALT Supervising Senior Tax role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, specifically with a focus on state and local tax (SALT).
2. Proven experience in supervising tax associates, with a strong focus on leadership and mentorship.
3. Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
4. Exceptional tax planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax concepts to clients and staff.
6. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
7. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
8. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
