Position Description
Position Overview: An SAP Materials Management Functional Analyst provides support to our business users in various geographic locations as well as promotes leadership/mentorship to other business specialists. This individual will work closely with business specialists in the US and EU across functional areas and assist the functional users. This includes SAP system usage inquiries, gathering business requirements, translating them into functional requirements, recommending and implementing solutions by configuring SAP, and working with ABAP developers. This individual will also work with other technical teams on enhancements and new initiatives to meet ongoing business needs and support the company’s long term growth strategies.
- Play a key role in the solution design and implementation of systems on various projects and support initiatives within a functional area
- Collaborate with global business counterparts to ensure successful implementation of projects and maintenance of optimum service levels on various system change requests
- Ensure that proper change control and project management processes are followed
- Support internal customers within Applied Medical to ensure business process design and relevant Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) configuration is in line with the business needs
- Design software solutions by collaborating with system developers
- Develop Proof of Concept (POC) on assigned project deliverables and conduct testing to ensure that the system is designed to perform as intended
- Perform data migration and cutover activities, and provide post-go-live support on various projects and support initiatives for Applied Medical’s United States, Europe, and Australian offices
- Perform configuration of SAP Material Management (MM) in areas such as indirect and direct procurement and stock transfers
- Collaborate with the Information Technology (IT) team on projects, such as SAP development, mobile, and web development to implement user-friendly applications that are easy to maintain and expand
- Provide level two support on all procurement related applications to address user requests and resolve system issues, which may involve occasionally working non-business hours to support high-severity issues impacting global business users
- Develop and design documents, functional specifications, test scripts, and assist in issue resolution and risk mitigation on projects
- Provide functional and technical knowledge to support development tasks
- Perform peer reviews of system configuration and software design specifications
- Participate in the implementation of new systems, process improvements, and solutions in one or more application areas within SAP
- Research and evaluate new functionalities within the SAP system and relevant software technologies
- Participate in the Business Analyst Develop Program
- Train other team members, as needed
- Facilitate select training workshops, as needed
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Management Information Systems
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience using SAP MM or SAP S/4HANA in a full life cycle implementation with recent releases of SAP, either in a client-facing role or in an internal consulting role
- Strong experience implementing and configuring the system involving purchase requisitions and orders, goods receipts, stock transport orders, drop ship orders, and sub-contracting
- Excellent business process design experience using SAP
- Solid understanding of business objectives and value management
- Strong understanding of integration touchpoints with one or more SAP modules and the demonstrated ability to design integrated solutions across Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modules
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with clients, Team Members, and management
- Comfortability operating in cross-functional teams
- Familiarity and experience designing system solutions in one or more SAP modules
- Integration knowledge of SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) with SAP applications, such as SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), SAP Production Planning (PP), SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Application Link Enabling (ALE), and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
- SAP Certification in Materials Management or equivalent, such as SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement
- Knowledge and experience working in an Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 11 compliant environment
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- Experience with S4/HANA in at least one application area, particularly sales
- Familiarity with contract management software, such as ARIBA and Legisway
- Knowledge of mobile application development using SAP Fiori
- Project Management Certification or demonstrated project management skills
Benefits
The base compensation range for this role is $70000 - $135000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
