Job Summary
The master data manager is responsible for organizing and motivating the department employees, providing leadership and development. The manager provides direction and is the master gatekeeper of CITGO's Master Data controls ensuring that data is treated as a corporate asset. Functions as a subject matter expert, has the ability to see the entire process flow through materials movements, logistics, pricing, sales and purchase orders. Accountable for every decision made and also be willing to take responsibility for the results of their decisions. Proactively applies judgement and discretion while managing the work process. The manager is accountable for the completeness, accuracy and integrity of Vendor Master and Hydrocarbon Master Data. Resolves data quality problems through critical thinking and researching alternatives options, ensuring strict adherence of CITGO procedures and the impact to CITGO's bottom line. Using existing and enforcing processes and procedures to solve routine problems. Assisting with CITGO Internal Compliance, SOX's and Internal/External Audit developing and enforcing process controls. Implementing continuous processes quality improvements, outlining business development and goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10 years of job-related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP enterprise master data. Knowledge of SAP modules: Financial and Controlling (FI), Sales and Distribution (SD), Material Master (MM), Master Data Management (MDM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM).
- Intermediate MS Excel skills.
- Written communication skills in documentation
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Supervision of the department, organizing, delegating, prioritizing, outlining what needs done and division of workloads. Direct employees in training, career development and assisting in them achieving their goals. Providing instructions, follow-up and verification.
- Ability to identify, explain, and resolve complex data issues, provide problem resolution on issues related to complex and/or highly specialized master data elements for department and Master Data customers. Researches and trouble shoots data across multiple sources using knowledge of data flow and the impact on business units processes.
- Interact with Compliance Department to incorporate and improve vendor data verifications and cleansing. Drive the improvement of data quality by designing and maintaining a data quality program, ensuring that policy controls and data quality rules are identified and enforced. Ensure existing and new data is being audited and monitored. Serve as a primary point of escalation to resolve data quality issues and facilitate procedures. Implement improvements to existing data and governance processes.
- Conduct audits to confirm CITGO Sarbanes-Oxley policies are maintained. Perform SAP data audits to clean and remove incomplete, expired, invalid, unused, or duplicate data. Preform error detection and correction, process control and improvement based on knowledge of the policies, process, and operations.
- Identifies areas for data efficiencies and develop necessary strategies for improvements, automation, process design strategies, and reporting. Helps resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction process control. Collaborate in the planning, design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment of new features, functions, modules, applications, and enhancements of master data management process.
- Understand and research IRS tax laws ensuring compliance with federal, regulations and requirements to prevent fines and penalties.
- Build knowledge and maintain system and desk documentation/procedures, provide training and lead the change management process.
