Overview
Telecommunications Mechanic II:
Bowhead seeks aTelecommunications Mechanic IIto support a newly awarded contract at Whiteman AFB providing highly reliable wired telecommunications and networked voice, video and data services. TheTelecommunications Mechanic IIshall perform Operation and Maintenance (O&M) and other services required to ensure the Base Telecommunications System (BTS) is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Responsibilities
Job duties to include but are not limited to:
+ Repair and maintain ISP cable facilities including switches, servers, and associated cabling.
+ Assure dependable and uninterrupted operation of telephone communications by proactively identifying problems.
+ Identify problems by using electronic testing equipment.
+ Troubleshoot circuit packs and associated hardware/software
+ Daily operations of switching systems including administration of directory numbers, route patters, and trunks.
+ Familiar with VOIP and associated end devices.
Qualifications
+ Minimum of three years OSP/ISP cable maintenance experience.
+ Strong background in Telephony Outside Plant service to include maintenance and service of associated switches, servers, and peripheral components, copper and fiber optic cable installation, and maintenance.
+ Avaya training and/or certification.
+ CompTIA Security+ certification
Physical Demands:
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
+ Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
+ Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
+ working on ladders, in confined spaces, and use of a respirator
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
