Job Description Summary:
The SCADA Engineer (Design) will be provide Engineering level support in the design, development and commissioning of the SOLV Energy SCADA solution and EPC projects.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design SCADA systems for utility scale renewable energy projects including but not limited to utility scale PV solar, BESS, or Wind.
- Review project scope of work documents and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into comprehensive system designs.
- Develop detailed design documentation including communications diagrams, networking port maps, powering diagrams, and equipment bill of materials for SCADA communication racks and field network enclosures.
- Review SCADA drawing sets for accuracy and generate redlines at standard drawing revision intervals.
- Collaborate with SOLV OT (Operational Technology) team(s) to determine server and networking equipment hardware meets project requirements.
- Interface with SOLV field team personnel as needed to address design and installation questions.
- Participate in special projects to research SCADA equipment in support of standards updates and/or customer requests as needed.
External
- Serve as the SCADA Design lead for assigned projects in customer facing meetings.
- Interface with 3rd party integrators leading up to and during SCADA rack and FNE assembly, reviewing manufacturability suggestions to ensure intended SCADA functionality is maintained.
- Host/present hardware verification portion of customer-witnessed SCADA headend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- College degree in an equivalent technical discipline is preferred but not required, related working experience can offset college degree.
- 2 - 4 years of verifiable SCADA engineering experience (experience working within renewable energy including industrial or utility scale PV solar, BESS, or Wind desired).
- Experience working with electrical schematics and process, instrumentation, and control diagrams.
- Ability to read and edit diagrams and schematics including, but not limited to power protection systems, networking and control, electrical, mechanical, and civil drawings.
- Knowledge of design, installation, and commissioning of SCADA networks using; Fiber Optics, Serial RS-232 / RS-485, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
- Understanding of industrial automation protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA and DA).
- Understanding of power plant operating procedures.
- Ability to work well within a cross-functional technical team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft office tools including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Visio.
- Experience using task management tools including but not limited to; MS Teams, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira or others.
- Strong process management skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, charismatic
- Excellent communications skills.

Compensation Range:
$115,000.00 - $130,000.00
