SQL DBA from System One

System One is seeking a SQL Database Administrator for a long-term, hybrid-onsite opportunity in Lenexa, KS. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in database administration, management and optimization, with a focus on Microsoft technologies. This role involves ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of databases, as well as troubleshooting any issues and providing efficient solutions
Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.
• Perform database administration tasks, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and space management using Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies.
• Implement and oversee database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.
• Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers.
• Work closely with IT managers, DBAs and software developers.
• Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
• Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Ensure that storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
• Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

• 3+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related Microsoft technologies.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
• Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
• Knowledge of database design and scripting using SQL.
• Familiarity with database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
• Familiarity and experience with Azure SQL a plus.
• Must be detail-oriented and logical.
