Job Summary
The Sr. SQL Server BI Developer is a key leadership role responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and deployment of Business Intelligence solutions utilizing the SQL Server BI stack. This position not only requires technical expertise but also involves leading a team, fostering collaboration, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. The Sr. BI Developer will oversee the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and manage customer-facing issues, while working closely with Business Intelligence Analysts and business partners to gather requirements, translate them into actionable designs, and ensure the successful delivery of BI solutions.

Expected Work and Performance (Essential Functions)
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the design and management of BI infrastructure, ensuring thorough documentation, unit testing, and adherence to best practices across ARGO’s business lines.
- Develop, debug, and customize SSRS reports and Integration Services Packages, maintaining high standards for performance and usability.
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to define and document new and existing customer reports, enhancing system and client documentation.
- Engage with external customers and senior management to understand reporting needs and resolve issues effectively.
- Oversee the building, maintenance, and debugging of reporting infrastructure across various business applications, including Healthcare and Financial Services.
- Provide regular updates on project status to the Data Architect and Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Mentor team members and assist in the creation and validation of reporting artifacts in collaboration with QA.
- Research and address code defects, providing solutions to complex challenges.
- Design, build, and test advanced SSIS data transformation packages, ensuring high-quality data processing.
- Maintain and update documentation for BI infrastructure, including technical documents for ARGO’s reports and SSIS packages.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
Required Skills/Experience/Knowledge
- Expertise in writing complex T-SQL queries and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in SQL Server Reporting Services and Integration Services.
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling and design concepts.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience with JIRA.
- Familiarity with deploying Visual Studio build artifacts using SQL Server deployment tools.
- Working knowledge of source control systems.
- Experience in executing unit and QA testing, including writing test scripts and cases.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating with customers on requirements and design.
- Ability to effectively translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Preferred Skills/Experience/Knowledge
- Knowledge of SQL Server administration.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of Banking/Financial or Healthcare industries.
- Basic experience with VB.NET or C# projects.
- Light project management experience.

ATTENDANCE/WORK LOCATION
The position is based in our Richardson, TX office. Daily physical presence is required for interaction with co-workers, attending meetings, and project collaboration.
