Position Summary
The STEAM Vehicle Lead Specialist will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mobile STEAM Truck.
The STEAM Vehicle Lead Specialist will develop robust programming for the Mobile STEAM Vehicle from start to implementation, including management of the mobile truck logistics and evaluation of its operations. The Mobile STEAM Vehicle Lead Specialist will manage all aspects of the mobile truck from programming to scheduling of the mobile vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the STEAM Specialist to manage budgeting needs, provide a program strategy, meet objectives, and manage scheduling effectively.
- Research, coordinate, and manage all STEAM Vehicle programming, including serving as lead facilitator for the mobile truck.
- Serve as a project manager including tracking all tasks, overseeing scheduling for the STEAM Vehicle, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Work with the VP of STEAM and STEAM Specialist to provide impactful and relevant programming throughout all GSSEM communities and Southeastern Michigan.
- Work with the marketing and communications team to plan strategies for all mobile truck special events.
- Help manage and coordinate all the special STEAM Vehicle event planning, timeline, and action items alongside the STEAM Specialist.
- Monitor the STEAM Vehicles budget and work with the Fund Development team on securing possible grant funding for programs.
- Provide timely feedback on project plans when needed.
- Assist in hiring processes for the other team members.
- Arrange all STEAM Vehicle services such as gas, transportation, etc. when needed.
- Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Serve as the Lead on Duty for the STEAM Vehicle.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with concentration in related field or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of STEAM facilitation experience preferred
- Previous people management experience preferred
- Knowledge of STEAM programming, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and or other related topics
- Ability to learn new activities to deliver for our K-5 students
- Ability to work with K-5 students in a STEAM Mobile truck environment.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other departments to meet mutual goals.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to schedule appointments with the STEAM Mobile Truck
- Ability to work well with others
Essential Requirements
- This position requires registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
- Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional computer programs such as Salesforce.
- Demonstrated skills in creative thinking, problem solving and innovation.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include some evening and weekend hours
