About the Job
Who We Are:
The Engineering Applications & Systems Development section of the Applied Physics Division at Southwest Research Institute conceives, develops, designs, and delivers specialized custom hardware and software solutions meeting our customer’s needs.
Objectives of this Role:
- Provide assistance by being involved in developing and designing applicable solutions by way of hardware and software development and implementation.
- Summer 2025 position.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance by way of hardware design, software and systems engineering.
- Develop clearly written documentation describing engineering concepts, designs, and project results.
- Support Engineers in a team based environment on challenges related to embedded microprocessors, DSP systems, and RF engineering.
- Contribute new ideas, approaches, and techniques.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Must have 2 years of curriculum completed in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Interest in controls/signals, RF, FPGAs and/or Software design related to embedded microprocessors.
- Strong communication skills, ability to self-motivate but integrate with a team.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
