About the Job
The Safety Coordinator will work with the Safety Director, Project Manager, Superintendents, and Legal Team in adhering to company safety health and environmental policies.

- Oversees and makes decisions related to project safety, health, and environmental policies
- Makes decisions related to work stoppage when circumstances are related to an immediate danger to life and health on a project
- Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines and procedures
- Investigate and resolve issues on behalf of Sachse. Communicate with project staff and trade partners in connection with resolving field safety issues
- Provide leadership on the project and build working relationships with project staff and each trade partner safety representative to ensure proper compliance
- Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations, and owner/contractual requirements
- Educate and advise project staff on safety guidelines and policies
- Responsible for reducing project Incident Rates by meeting or exceeding established company goals
- Manage project safety budget (if applicable)
- Manage regulatory exposures to zero citations
- Takes measures and implements the overall site safety program as required and ensures trade partners compliance with Sachse standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the development of the overall project safety program
- Conduct training and safety meetings
- Create safety reports for the project, analyzing metrics and making recommendations for improvement over baseline
- Review and make recommendations related to subcontractor safety programs
- Evaluate need for training and make recommendations to trade partners
- Conduct safety audits, issue report of violations and require immediate corrective action by trade partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent with some experience in building and construction
- 1 – 10 years related field experience/training
- Knowledge of governmental ES&H standards, rules and regulations and proficiency in applying them to projects (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA)
- Certified in 30 Hour OSHA and First Aid/CPR Certified
