Summary The General Sales Manager directs the sales activities of the dealership to ensure that the dealership meets its new and/or used vehicle unit and gross objectives on a daily, monthly, and annual basis. This will be accomplished by planning, organizing, coordinating and measuring the activities of the new and used sales department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the dealership meets its new and used vehicle sales quotas and its objectives on a daily, monthly, and annual basis, by personally getting involved.
- Achieve planned unit sales volume by offering balanced and representative vehicle inventories; maintain accurate vehicle inventory on a daily basis.
- Review market analysis and sales reports to determine customer needs and volume potential.
- Develop sales campaigns and advertising to accommodate the goals of the dealership.
- Acquire and maintain full knowledge of the manufacturer products and dealership services.
- Hire, train, motivate and regulate the performance of all sales people; develop and mentor salespersons to enhance the development and control of sales programs.
- Monitors salespersons productivity and performance daily, monthly, and annually by projected income.
- Ensure that sales people are following established sales and prospecting program to obtain optimum results.
- Responsible for appraising, reconditioning, displaying, wholesaling and merchandising the product.
- Meet customer service standards by achieving ‘above district’ customer service information “CSI” scores.
- Serve as liaison between sales department and other departments.
- Administer and monitor factory-sponsored programs consistent with manufacturer incentives.
- Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.
- Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the Foundation Automotive brand.
- Effectively perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years automobile sales experience
- Supervisory experience required
- Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- College degree preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening
- Authorization to work in the USA
