BASIC FUNCTION:
This is a Sales Tax Specialist position in the Cape Girardeau Corporate Office. Responsible for providing state and local tax work and administrative duties in the Sales Tax area of Drury Hotels. Maintains a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the Drury culture with co-workers, vendors & customers.
Assist in the initial data load for sales, use and occupancy tax returns.
Review and approve monthly/quarterly sales, use and occupancy tax returns. Perform electronic sales tax payments via internet.
Perform sales, use and occupancy tax research and monitor compliance in multiple states.
Monitor taxes and tax rates in specific states
Coordinate necessary tax registrations for new Drury hotel locations / legal entities.
Assist in preparation for state/local tax audits; work with any state /local tax agency personnel during course of such audits up through and including assessment resolution.
Coordinate and perform tax related internal audits (reviews) in areas including, but not limited to utilities, account payable invoices, tax exemption compliance (at hotel level), liquor purchases and other areas that may be requested by management.

- Requires ability to maintain effective working relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Must be proficient with use of Microsoft Office software and have the ability to do data entry with efficiency and accuracy.
- Must have the ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
