About the Job
Our client, a prominent global food manufacturer based in Omaha, NE, seeks an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to lead their 2nd shift sanitation team. This is an exciting 12+ month contract role offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major production facility's safety and cleanliness standards.
2nd shift (2 pm-11 pm, Monday through Friday), this role also includes weekend shifts every third weekend, requiring 13-hour coverage. The expected weekly commitment is around 45 hours.
Position Overview:
As the Sanitation Supervisor, you will lead a team of 17 sanitation employees, ensuring a clean and safe environment throughout the plant. This position is vital in maintaining strict sanitation standards and involves addressing adverse events, managing pest control activities, and preparing the facility for routine and special clean-ups.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of 17 sanitation staff, overseeing cleaning, housekeeping, and emergency cleaning tasks on the 2nd shift.
- Conduct environmental swabbing, inspect the facility for sanitation needs, and initiate corrective actions for any sanitation or pest control issues.
- Support operational teams with sanitation guidance and assist in preparation for large-scale plant clean-ups.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, and complete administrative duties using MS Office.
- Perform facility walkthroughs and ensure compliance with cleanliness standards, coaching and correcting staff as needed.
- Perform physical duties, including climbing stairs, ladders, and prolonged standing as needed.
Required Skills:
- Proven ability to lead, instruct, and support a sanitation team, ensuring thorough completion of tasks.
- Proficient with MS Office and capable of handling basic computer tasks.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring sanitation compliance and coaching staff to uphold these standards.
- Physically capable of navigating the plant's layout, including stairs and ladders.
- Knowledgeable in the proper handling and use of sanitation chemicals.
Required Experience:
- Experience in Operations Management, Sanitation Management, or Janitorial Management.
- 2+years of experience supervising a sanitation team in a food manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Pest control experience is a plus.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required; college education is a plus.
