Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Scheduling Leader to join our Life Sciences team. This position will be based in our Kearny, NJ location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the nutraceutical function. This position will report to the Plant Manager at Kearny.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING.
Ensure Ashland corporate and site-specific safety policies; react to unsafe environments, behaviors, and reports.
Ensure compliance with Ashland corporate and site-specific food safety policies.
Develop and implement a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly production scheduling system.
Work with production to create and manage production schedules and optimize the use of assets.
Partner closely with Customer Service to keep expected completion dates accurate in SAP as well as support customer requests for progress updates (meetings as well as spreadsheets).
Work with commercial teams to project demand requirements for finished goods and raw materials to maintain targeted inventory levels and/or meet production needs
Ensure team is issuing purchase requisition from BOM materials are delivered to procurement, track delivery dates to adjust long term plan
Participate in Safety, Quality and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Ashland programs
Conduct and/or participate in root cause/CAPA activities as designated
Partner with material coordinator and warehouse manager to identify slow moving, expired, and other risk associated with raw ingredients and finished goods
Track daily production against weekly goals, track finished product testing against customer expectation and proactively report delays and/or improvements to on time delivery
5% out-of-state travel for training, 15% local travel (within 20 miles) to visit and coordinate with other factories
Report on metrics, identify gaps between target and performance, provide and execute action plan to bridge gaps
Coordinate with operations to plan downtime for maintenance and improvement activities
Other duties as assigned
IN ORDER TO BE QUALIFIED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or business or relevant experience
10 years’ experience in professional production scheduling/demand forecasting/planning/supply chain environment using MRP & ERP systems
Familiarity with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook; expertise in MS Excel
THE FOLLOWING SKILL SETS ARE PREFERRED BY THE BUSINESS UNIT:
Experience with SAP
Proven self-starter with urgency for delivering results
Strategic and tactical with a hands-on analytical approach
