Position Overview:
The Scheduling Support Associate is responsible for assisting with the creation and management of production schedules, maintaining accurate data in the ERP system, and ensuring effective communication between departments. This role supports the overall efficiency of the production process by providing accurate and timely scheduling information. This role is integral in supporting the scheduling and production planning processes, ensuring smooth operations within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule Preparation: Assist in the preparation and updating of production schedules, ensuring that all necessary resources are allocated to meet production targets.
- Data Entry and Maintenance: Accurately enter and maintain production-related data in the ERP system, ensuring that schedules reflect current production capabilities and customer orders.
- Communication: Serve as a point of contact between the Master Scheduler/ERP Coordinator and various departments, ensuring that schedule changes and updates are communicated effectively.
- Support Resource Allocation: Collaborate with department heads to confirm the availability of materials, equipment, and labor necessary to meet production schedules.
- Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts or issues, working closely with the Master Scheduler/ERP Coordinator to minimize production delays.
- Reporting: Generate and distribute regular reports on production schedules, resource utilization, and any deviations from the planned schedule.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at improving scheduling processes, offering suggestions for optimizing resource allocation and production efficiency.
- ERP System Support: Provide basic support for the ERP system, assisting with data entry and troubleshooting minor issues related to scheduling data.
- Document Management: Maintain and organize all scheduling-related documentation, ensuring that records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Training and Development: Participate in training sessions to improve knowledge of scheduling practices, ERP system use, and overall production processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or coursework in business administration, office management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in an administrative role or similar position is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word) and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and work well within a team.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and ensure timely follow-through on daily responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
The Scheduling Support Associate role involves working at a computer workstation for extended periods, with frequent data entry and report generation tasks. The role may require occasional movement around the production floor to verify information or address scheduling issues. This position may involve lifting light office materials or documents up to 20 lbs and requires regular interaction with office equipment and communication tools.
