Security Safety Officer - Baldwinsville, NY!

$27.36 PER HOUR (Prevailing Wage base rate $24.92 + $2.44 supplemental rate)

Weekly pay

Monday through Friday 7am to 3pm, follow a school schedule

Position Summary

The Security Safety Officer is responsible for performing licensed security guarding duties to ensure the safety and security of assigned client location, its visitors, guests, residents and their property. By exhibiting vigilance and tactfulness in following company protocol, the Security Guard is perceptive at identifying situational risk within assigned areas and prompt in communicating events to Site Supervisor/ Manager on duty.

Essential Job Duties

Arrow Security is seeking motivated individuals with prior Security Safety Officer experience to join our team of security officers for the Baldwinsville School District. As a School Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the students, staff, and guests within the school district. This full time position requires individuals who are reliable, possess excellent interpersonal skills and can present a professional appearance.

- Monitor and supervise threat detection system for all personnel entering and exiting the premises.
- Serve as a Security Safety Officer, providing a welcoming and secure environment for students, staff, and guests within the Baldwinsville School District.
- Maintain a vigilant presence, observing and reporting any suspicious activities or individuals to the appropriate authorities.
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they adhere to the school district's security protocols and policies.
- Provide directions and guidance to visitors, staff, and students regarding the appropriate locations within the school district.
- Collaborate with other security personnel to ensure a coordinated response to any security-related incidents.
- Traverse from building to building throughout the school district as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Neat and professional appearance.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential for effectively interacting with students, staff, and guests.
- Valid NYS Security Guard License
- Prior Law Enforcement, Corrections, Fire Department, Military Background, or 15 years of Security experience.
- Availability to work after school activities and maintaining flexibility in scheduling.
- Broad knowledge of school safety and security procedures
- Ability to work effectively with campus-based administrators and staff.
- Knowledge of security computer hardware and software programs related to closed circuit television, controlled access, emergency management, and visitor identification.
