Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team in Torrington, CT. The SLP will work with students across various grade levels, providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a variety of speech, language, and communication disorders. This role is integral to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally by addressing their communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to diagnose communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) based on assessment results.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with a range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations to support student learning.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with school district policies and state regulations.
- Stay updated on best practices, new research, and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Connecticut state SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
