Job Responsibilities for School Van Driver.
· Adheres to appropriate route as assigned.
· Ensure the safety of all students.
· Arrives to each assigned route location timely.
· Maintains the entry of driver’s log.
· Performs pre and post vehicle inspections; reports same.
· Responsible for a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times.
· Monitors vehicle maintenance; refuels as required or requested.
· Communicates with dispatch via two-way radio.
· Complies with all general safety rules.
· Follows internal reporting for safety hazards.
· Escalates inappropriate student behavior.
· Obeys all traffic laws.
· May assist students with on and off boarding.
· Attends all general safety trainings.

· Intermediate Reasoning
Education/Experience for Van Driver.
High school diploma or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to successfully pass required backgrounds checks including but not limited to: Child Abuse Clearance, State Criminal, FBI Clearance, and drug/alcohol testing. *Must be 21 or older.
**This position has potential for a dual role (Van Driver & Assistant Teacher)!
