Hourly Range - Permanent Position with Benefits
Work under the direct supervision of the production supervisor to learn various aspects of the machine trade. Utilize this knowledge to excel in metal finishing.

Work under the direct supervision of the production supervisor to learn various aspects of the machine trade. Utilize this knowledge to excel in metal finishing.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Evaluate feed screws for rework. Describe work scope and submit to estimating.
- OD grind, straighten, root grind, and final polish (color buff) screw.
- Train with existing production personnel to learn the "art” of metal finishing and polishing
- Experienced with/or learn to operate, manual OD grinders, root grinding, and belt polishing equipment for extrusion screws.
- Ability to use micrometers and other measuring equipment to accurately check dimensions.
- Advancement to machinist grade and commensurate pay with successful achievement of responsibilities noted above. Additional opportunities for pay increases as follows:
- Learn to operate and assist with surface grinding.
- Participate in machine assembly and checkout
- Polish dies and items other than feed screws.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
- High school education, with a preferred emphasis on vocational training in manufacturing.
- Candidate should have their own tools
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
