Secret Cleared Principal Windows Systems Administrator - ClearBridge Technology Group

Our client, a large government contractor with offices located in Linthicum, MD, is in need of a Secret Cleared Principal Windows Systems Administrator for a 6 month contract with great chance of extension and/or full-time conversion. The consultant will work onsite in support of Windows systems administration for a classified government environment.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze internal and external customer requirements to determine appropriate hardware and software requirements for solutions to problems, by means of automated systems.
  
• Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  
• Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
  
• Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors and evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
  
• Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
  
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, customer, and IT management.
  
• Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, and system components.
  
• Prepare security documentation for input to computer security.
  
• Provide backup and recovery services, manage file systems and disk space, and manage virus protection on a routine basis.
  
• Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
  
• Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.

Required Skills:

• Associate's degree and 7 years of experience; or Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience; or Master's degree and 3 years of experience; a high school diploma or equivalent with 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
  
• Active DoD Secret or higher clearance
  
• Ability to obtain prior to starting and maintain a special access program (SAP/SAR) clearance as a condition of continued employment. The SAP process can take 6-12 weeks
  
• Current Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP, or similar certification, or the ability to acquire certification within 6 months of hire date
  
  • Maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.
  
  
• Experience managing Windows Server OS and AD domain architecture.
  
• Proven ability to work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
  
• Candidates must be a US born citizen per government customer requirements

Nice to have Skills:

• An active DoD Top Secret clearance
  
• Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments
  
• Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and vLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification a plus.
  
• Knowledge of SAN storage systems.
  
• Linux operating system experience and/or certification for current versions.
  
• VMware experience
  
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk).
  
• Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.
  
• Experience with Systems Certification & Accreditation process (under DCSA's STIG and/or JSIG requirements).
