The TES Admin team is seeking a proactive individual with strong customer service skills, innovative thinking, and keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
The Secretary role supports a division of 72 employees across four workgroups: Communications, Environmental Services, Program Planning, and Traffic Operations. This support includes various clerical responsibilities such as:
- Answering the Traffic Operations phone line from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Reviewing, formatting, and editing technical documents.
- Coordinating staff, projects, documents, processes, meetings, events, and schedules.
- Assisting with division onboarding and offboarding.
- Preparing staff training and travel requests, including registration and accommodations.
- Managing large group or project mailings.
- Maintaining, tracking, and updating division SharePoint pages, administrative processes, and division lists.
- Handling miscellaneous requests or special projects as needed.
Join our team if you are familiar with general office practices, have experience in customer service, and proficiency in using standard office programs and software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe. Strong coordination, time management, communication, and attention to detail skills are essential. The ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, interruptive environment is a must.
About TES Admin
The TES Admin team oversees the division’s administrative operations, including recruitment and onboarding, accounts payable and purchasing, timesheets, division process and procedure, and general clerical support. In addition, the division handles traffic operations and maintenance, planning and prioritizing County road activities, performing environmental reviews of projects, and keeping the public informed about Public Works projects.

Snohomish County Public Works is responsible for more than 1,650 miles of county roads, 201 bridges, and 202 traffic control signals, as well as processing nearly 600,000 tons of garbage per year. The work associated with this position can be performed with a hybrid of remote work and in-office work as needed and assigned. For employees who prefer to work in the office full-time, that option is also available.
Employees will be provided with a county-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Snohomish County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. A Snohomish County Telework agreement is required for employees assigned to telework.
To respond to workplace reporting requirements, employees must reside in Washington state and be within a reasonable distance of their Snohomish County worksite.
