Starting Pay: $16.55 / hour + eligibility for company benefits
Shift(s):
- 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday
Job Overview:
As a Security Guard in a food processing facility, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of the premises, personnel, and assets. You will be tasked with implementing and enforcing security measures to safeguard against theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. Your role is crucial in maintaining a secure environment conducive to the smooth operation of the facility.
Perimeter Security:
- Conduct regular patrols around the exterior of the facility to detect and deter unauthorized individuals or activities.
- Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the premises.
Access Control:
- Verify the identity of all individuals entering the facility through proper identification checks.
- Issue and manage access badges for employees and contractors.
Surveillance:
- Utilize surveillance systems to monitor key areas of the facility, identifying any suspicious behavior or security breaches.
- Report and document incidents, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
Emergency Response:
- Act swiftly and decisively in response to security incidents or emergencies, following established protocols.
- Collaborate with emergency services when necessary and provide support in emergency evacuation procedures.
Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with other security personnel, facility management, and relevant departments.
- Report any security concerns or incidents promptly to the appropriate authorities.
Vehicle Inspections:
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles entering and leaving the facility to prevent unauthorized transportation of goods.
Security Checks:
- Perform routine security checks on employees, ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and logistics, to ensure security measures align with overall facility operations.
Training:
- Participate in security training programs and drills to enhance preparedness for various scenarios.
- Assist in educating employees on security protocols and awareness.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of security activities, including incident reports, daily logs, and shift reports.
Your background:
- You have a high school education or equivalent (GED).
- You’re able to pass an extensive screening process.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- You have a driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Strong driving skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Must be capable of walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
- Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
- Excellent observation and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Basic computer skills for managing access control systems and surveillance equipment.
- Able to pass, obtain, and maintain an Iowa state security license (GardaWorld will help to obtain and cover the cost).
