Security Operations Manager - TekSynap

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to make decisions, plan, manage tasks, and direct resources.
• Experienced in coordinating tasks to address potential, suspected, and confirmed IT security incidents and which countermeasures need to be deployed to defend, contain, and recover from an incident.
• Provide technical leadership to SOC analysts in executing on cybersecurity strategy and NOAA incident response plan.
• Orchestrate the SOC response to major security threats.
• Provide technical expertise evaluating threats and vulnerabilities.
• Prepares cybersecurity reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends and provide ongoing reports.
• Maintains incident response procedures by ensuring compliance to standards and policies; developing and conducting training programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8 - 10 years management complex large scale technology programs
• BA/BS Degree
• Must be able to successfully obtain a Public Trust

CERTIFICATIONS

Should possess and maintain one or more of the following technical certifications or equivalent industry certifications:

• DOD 8140
• SANS DOD 8140 Cert Track
• CompTIA DOD 8140 Cert Track
• CEH-Master-Cert-Track
• ISACA’s Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX)
• Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) credential track

We are seeking a Security Operations Manager to join our team supporting NOAA Cyber Security Center (NCSC) Enterprise Security Center (ESOC) in Silver Spring, MD. and /or Fairmont, WV.

The NCSC provides comprehensive cyber security services to the NOAA and its partners’ IT enterprise as a shared service. As part of NOAA’s Cyber Security Division NCSC provides services to achieve NOAA’s and other stakeholders cybersecurity mission: to protect and defend the use of cyberspace from cyber-attacks, and to protect NOAA information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $120,000 - $152,000.  The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.  The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
