Seed Technology Operations Specialist
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Seed Tech Ops Specialist will explore new technologies applicable to seed manufacturing processes. Responsible for transforming ideas into projects and implementing those projects through collaboration and experimentation.
Responsible for working closely with the Operations team and cross functionally to deliver on improvements related to seed quality and upgrading. Assist manufacturing leadership and technicians in identifying and implementing improvements related to productivity, capacity, cost, quality, sustainability, and safety.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Technology Operations Specialist, are to:
- Work closely with the Global Seed Technology team to explore new technologies applicable to seed manufacturing processes;
- Support discovery and implementation of key projects in Seed Research across global vegetable business with specific focus in the areas of Seed Sanitation, Treating, Pelleting and Priming;
- Develop experimental designs, write protocols, collect data, perform statistical data analysis and write reports;
- Develop project proposals, including cost estimates and financial justifications, working with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for project objectives and results;
- Perform feasibility studies to test new ideas or concepts;
- Work closely with Operations leadership and technicians to ensure understanding of key processes related to seed technology;
- Provide training and develop protocols in alignment with global teams to close any gaps;
- Provide support to Operations team on an ongoing basis including continuous improvement projects, auditing, technician progression, production system or any other key initiatives.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Experience in a Biology, Chemistry, or Agricultural enviroment;
- Strong technical ability and experience with project management;
- Knowledge of statistical tools; experience planning and executing experimental designs and data analysis;
- Ability to lead through influencing;
- Results oriented with a sense of urgency;
- Team oriented and works well cross functionally ;
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization;
- Customer centric- identifies and satisfies the needs of internal and external customers and stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred degree discipline: Biology, Chemistry or Agriculture;
- 3+ years of applicable experience;
- Knowledge of seed production;
- Prior Research experience;
Domestic relocation assistance may be offered for this role.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $84,350.48 to $126,525.72. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
