This Superintendent will be the primary leadership for all self perform activities on site. Overall responsibility for project field execution including safety, profitability and quality, while representing and protecting Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors interests.
What You Will Do:
As Self Perform Superintendent, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Reports as required to the Operations Manager
- Responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and training new tradesmen.
- Responsible for project safety include inspections, TAG's, pre-task analysis and interface with Director of Safety. Ensure appropriate Safety training and awareness is administered daily
- Study, review, interpret and thoroughly understand contract/project documents including submittals, shop drawings, drawings, specification, project documents, work scopes, work categories and subcontractor/vendor scopes
- Complete daily reports and timecards EVERYDAY
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the architect, engineer, general contractor and/or construction manager as needed
- Work with project team to develop project work plans and schedules. Review work plans/schedules on a weekly basis with the Project Manager, and Operations Manager.
- Assist with generating RFI's and project changes including communicating any changes with the field
- Maintain appropriate levels of manpower to maintain schedule and maximize profits
- Work closely and cooperatively with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Engineer to ensure project goals are met
- Coordinate with other subcontractors to ensure efficiency
- Sound the alarm in the event of an issue
- Work with Project Manager to track costs including weekly productions
- Estimate, order, sequence and report all materials necessary
- Attends all LDP meetings
What You Will Bring to the Team:
Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
- Five (5+) or more years' of relevant work experience or proven established work history for the position.
- High School Diploma or GED, or proven ability to adequately fulfill the position.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, and other relevant course work, and two years of experience in a supervisory role.
- OSHA 30-hour

- Have the ability to interact with and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including internal and external customers, in different situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks while completing work within established deadlines.
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, and keep commitments.
- Must have excellent written and oral skills.
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Have a passion for team-based planning and problem-solving.
- Have a wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support project goals.
Pay: $110,000.00-$135,000.00 per year

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. As part of our focus on being a Great Place to Work, we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics we expect:
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach (with hands and arms), climb, balance stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, be able to use a telephone and operate a keyboard.
- Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
