Your Impact
The primary purpose of the Senior AI Platform Engineer is to accelerate the adoption and integration of AI technologies, including GPT and Large Language Models (LLMs), within Axon. This role is pivotal in defining patterns and platforms that enable efficient development, integration, and automation using GPT and AI technologies. The engineer will also focus on leveraging existing models to help enable business use cases, managing and securing OpenAI and GPT API keys, training developers in prompt engineering, and providing architectural recommendations to build high-value, scalable solutions.
What You'll Do
Location: US Remote
Reports to: Enterprise Data Architect
- Deployment and Integration:
- Develop and implement patterns for deploying GPT actions and GPT API-consuming applications across various platforms within Axon.
- Create and maintain high-value connectors to enhance the functionality and integration of GPT technologies with existing systems.
- Evaluate, trial and promote various AI Services within the organization.
- Training and Best Practices:
- Train development teams on best practices for AI development and deployment.
- Provide guidance and training on prompt engineering.
- Develop and disseminate training materials and documentation to promote consistent and effective use of GPT technologies.
- Architectural Guidance:
- Provide architectural recommendations for GPT engineering projects, ensuring they align with Axon's overall technology strategy and goals.
- Collaborate with solution architects and engineering teams to design scalable and efficient GPT solutions.
- Innovation and Value Creation:
- Identify opportunities to leverage GPT technologies to create high-value solutions that address business needs and enhance productivity.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in GPT and related technologies to continuously improve Axon's GPT capabilities.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, solution architecture, and business units, to ensure successful GPT project implementations.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Secure Developer Enablement:
- Oversee the management and security of GPT API keys, ensuring they are used in compliance with Axon's security policies and best practices.
- Implement monitoring and auditing processes to prevent unauthorized access and usage.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, React or similar.
- Proven experience in deploying and managing GPT or similar AI technologies in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of platform management and security best practices.
- Excellent training and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to provide architectural guidance and technical leadership.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AI and machine learning technologies such as OpenAI, Azure ML Studio, Streamlit.
- Experience with Data Platforms such as Snowflake.
- Knowledge of data integration patterns and best practices.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 170,400 in the lowest geographic market and USD 255,600 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
