Overview
The primary function of the Senior Accountant is to support the Controller and the Accounting Manager(s) with financial analysis and support for all inventory accounting and costing, including inventory related reserves. Additional responsibilities include leading the month-end close process, daily cash transactional activities and tax compliance work. This role will also help develop reporting through the use of automated tools (Spreadsheet Server), calculate miscellaneous monthly accounting reserves, and prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of accruals in SAP for commissions, promotion, warranties, deferred revenue, rebates, and other liabilities.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date account reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger accounts and adherence to US GAAP and company policies.
+ Prepare and analyze key financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting.
+ Review the adequacy of monthly inventory obsolescence reserve.
+ Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all accruals and reconciliations are managed effectively and accurately.
+ Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary financial reports and ensuring compliance with internal controls (J-SOX).
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes, ensuring SOPs exist and are up to date, reconciliation accuracy, and reporting.
+ Any other ad hoc analysis as required.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Accounting.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills.
+ Ability to work independently and deliver results.
+ Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
+ Outgoing, enthusiastic, confident and motivated professional.
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to interact with Sharp and NEC Executive and Management.
+ Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems.
+ CPA is a plus

Compensation for this position
The compensation range for this role is$65,600-$108,500. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
