Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will cover a crucial part of our company’s accounting team. You will be involved in all aspects of accounting: cost accounting, payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, tax compliance, and various special analyses. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Process weekly payroll, including management of all 401k processing, reporting and compliance
- Review and reconcile payroll and 401k related GL accounts and headcount reports
- Produce all needed payroll data analytic reports
- Review and prepare weekly accounts payable runs with support of administrative team
- Assist in month-end close accounting process, including journal entries and the reconciliation of certain balance sheet accounts
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciations schedules, including ASC 842 lease accounting
- Assist management with accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization
- Partner with administrative team to maintain all licenses and tax filings
- Prepare and review monthly sales and use tax filings
- Undertake special analytical projects as assigned or needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- At least 3 years’ experience in accounting
- Previous experience in a service industry (construction, plumbing, electrical) is a plus
- Experience with Inova payroll software or UKG/Kronos is an added benefit
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
