Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, the Senior Staff Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records, providing valuable insights, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close:
- Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Prepare reconciliations and schedules of general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, inventory and software capitalization.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and resolve outstanding issues to meet close deadlines.
- Conduct detailed analysis of reconciling items, investigating variances and discrepancies to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Develop and implement reconciliation best practices and standardized procedures to streamline processes and minimize errors.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Process Improvements:
- Identify opportunities to enhance month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting procedures.
- Lead initiatives to implement process improvements and automation solutions, driving efficiencies and reducing cycle times.
- Document accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Audit Support and Tax Compliance:
- Assist in the coordination and preparation of audit schedules and documentation for external audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, staying updated on changes and developments.
- Prepare various schedules to support tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- General Accounting Support:
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.
- Prepare various financial reports, such as capital expenditure schedules, cash flow analysis, and expense variance analyses.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities by providing insights and supporting documentation as needed.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Finance team.
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification preferred or in progress.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and MS Excel
- Experience with various software applications and best practices
- Experience with Public Audits.
