Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This role involves accurate and timely financial transaction recording, daily accounting operations, and month-end closing support.
Responsibilities:
- Process all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash receipts/disbursements, ensuring accurate data entry into the general ledger.
- Reconcile various accounts, such as bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries for complex accounting transactions and adjustments.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, identifying and promptly resolving issues.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
- Participate in the month-end close process, completing assigned tasks and adhering to deadlines.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and initiatives.
- Manage tasks related to new store openings.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Assist in developing and monitoring KPIs to measure the accounting department's performance.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Oversee accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle general ledger accounting.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in accounting software
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experienced in month-end close processes.
- Involvement with intercompany transactions and reconciliation.
- Experience working with multiple companies.
