POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant position is a motivated multitasker who can assist our accounting team with verification and recording both AR and AP transactions, processing monthly journal entries, and owning portions of the month-end closing process. Attention to detail is a must and logical reasoning to be able to work with many different portals and teammates from multiple states. High growth opportunity as the goal of this position is to start with AR/AP duties and expand into other roles in the Finance and Accounting department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Month-end closing processes including journal entries and various analysis.
Weekly job revenue/cost and service cost recognition processes.
Bank reconciliations and cash management.
Balance sheet reconciliations including investigation and adjustment of unusual items.
Review and process Company credit card expenses via vendor platform.
Process sales and use tax return and other business tax filings.
Organize facility lease contracts and related bills to ensure understanding of expenses.
Provide backup support to Payroll, A/R, and A/P.
Support External audit and other compliance functions.
Support CFO and Controller with implementing projects to improve accounting operations.
Work with M&A Integration team to implement accounting policy and process changes for acquired companies.
Responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality of information and disclosing information to only the President, CFO, and/or VP of HR.
Must continuously adhere to Company’s Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard.
Expected to work safely, by using good judgment and following all Company safety policies and work procedures with authority to stop an unsafe act.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
4+ years of experience in accounting or other relevant experience.
Experience with consolidated financials and financial statement preparation.
Experience with job costing.
Payroll and accounts payable experience is a plus, but not required.
Self-starter with proficient Excel skills.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to use a telephone, computer and other office equipment.
