POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the Controller and CFO in the maintenance of general ledger, preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, and grant compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
Primary Duties
A. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations VOA Dakotas.
B. Prepare and enter journal entries into accounting software; verify accuracy of information entered.
C. Assist in preparation of annual budget.
D. Bank reconciliations.
E. Prepare monthly grant spreadsheets and assist with grant reporting.
F. Assist in annual financial audit for VOA Dakotas, VOA Foundation and Pettigrew Heights, as well as annual grant compliance testing.
G. Record the monthly payroll entries and calculate and record the monthly payroll accrual amounts.
H. Monthly revenue reconciliation, and revenue and expense variance analysis.
I. Program analysis and reporting.
J. Assist with program billings.
K. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Minimum of an undergraduate degree in accounting.
Experience: Three years of accounting experience which has provided familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles. Experience should include balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. Intermediate Excel experience preferred.
Skills: Excellent communication skills desired.
Certifications & Licenses: Valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements: Exercise discretion and independent judgment on a regular basis.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A. Ability to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend daily.
B. Capability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 100lbs on a daily basis.
