Sr. Accountant Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting various business functions, and contributing to the overall success of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and strong communication skills.
Schedule: M-F/ 7am-4pm
Requirements
• Prepares job cost journal entries and other ad hoc general ledger entries.
• Reconciles general ledger accounts with various sub-ledgers.
• Prepares fixed asset and lease accounting monthly journal entries. Ensures documentation for new and / or dispositions of fixed assets and leases is maintained.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions as needed.
• Performs standard and ad hoc analyses as needed to assist operations with problem solving and decision-making processes
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
• Assists with the annual financial audit process
• Implements and/or improves policies and procedures
• Utilizes advanced Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables, to analyze financial data and support decision-making processes.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and clear communication while interacting with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation preferred, not required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting, financial statement preparation, and cost accounting.
• Background in public accounting or auditing is preferred.
• Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
