Job Description
Position Overview
The Senior Analyst, Renewable Procurement will be responsible for supporting commercial strategy and leading commercial negotiations for electrical substation and power generation equipment in support of Invenergy’s development, engineering, and construction activities. Procurement activities will support wind, solar, thermal, and energy storage projects. This role reports to the Senior Director of Renewable Procurement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support commercial negotiations for power generation equipment supply contracts (e.g. high voltage breakers, electrical transformers, electrical switchgear, and energy storage equipment). Ensure that terms and conditions are in line with market expectations and align with all applicable project agreements including construction agreements and project sale agreements.
Manage equipment supply contracts post-execution. Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled on time and documented ahead of eventual hand-off to the Project Manager.
Maintain existing commercial relationships with key equipment suppliers and endeavor to evaluate, establish, and cultivate new relationships with strategic suppliers.
Collaborate with the technical procurement, engineering, construction, and operations teams to analyze procurement options and to assist in making equipment supply recommendations that best position Invenergy’s pipeline of renewable energy projects.
Support the management and deployment of equipment held in inventory. Support maintaining compliance with the storage & maintenance covenants for equipment supply loans. Maintain relationship with logistics service providers for the loading & transportation of equipment from central warehouses/storage facilities to projects under construction.
Maintain internal pricing database based on continuous market research and continuous development of market knowledge and pricing trends. Collaborate with the estimating team to support internal project pricing efforts.
Assist in the preparation and management of Request for Proposal packages as well as evaluation of all equipment supply bids.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years’ professional experience; prior experience in transferrable role or related industry
Strong ability to analyze data and interpret statistics.
Experience in project management and strategic problem solving.
Experienced commercial negotiator, with an understanding of the legal aspects of procurement
Proven and influential verbal and written communicator
Excellent organizational and administrative skills including exceptional attention to detail
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related disciple
Prior experience in category management, strategic sourcing, logistics, procurement, or a related field
Prior experience in renewable energy industry
