Job Summary: The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for leading and executing internal audits across critical functions within the company to assess the effectiveness of business operations
This role involves analyzing operational, financial, and regulatory compliance across the organization
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of best practices in industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate results to all involved.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and conduct internal audits of various departments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, operations, and insurance-specific processes.
Analyze key business processes, identifying risks, gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports and findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with other departments, including finance, compliance, risk management, and operations, to ensure an integrated approach to auditing.
Stay current on changes in regulatory environments, insurance industry trends, and emerging risks that may impact the company’s audit processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of internal auditing experience, in public or industry.
In-depth knowledge of relevant business operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment: This position is based in Mobile and may require light travel to different company locations for audit purposes
The Senior Internal Auditor will report directly to the Senior Director.
