About the Job
The Senior Bookkeeper collaborates with the Finance Manager to contribute to the smooth functioning of our finance operations by managing financial transactions to preparing financial statements and collaborating on finance related projects. The ideal candidate must have a sound understanding of accounting principles and procedures, strong analytical skills, detail oriented, and meticulous in their work. In this role you must have strong ethics and integrity, possess a professional and positive attitude, strong collaborator, team player, and self-motivated. This individual must be able to work in a structured, fast-paced environment as well as possess the ability to adapt to shifting deadlines and priorities. This candidate will assist in leading our finance team, running strategic projects, and have the desire to grow into further leadership roles.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and admin tasks
- Reconcile bank accounts and oversee other reconciliations
- Oversee, process and record financial transactions, including journal entries and general ledger entries
- Provide guidance and support to junior bookkeeping staff
- Oversee / manage TPT tax filing
- Collaborate on development of accounting processes and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making
- Collaborate with finance manager on year-end tax preparation, finance projects, including acquisitions / dispositions
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and work within the 52TEN way of operating business
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience (5 as a Senior Bookkeeper leading projects and/or a team)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or relevant certifications
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail / accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Motivated to raise the bar and continually grow and improve professionally
- A zest for doing a great job and providing the best experience
- Not a skill, but must pass a background check
- Background in real estate property management
- Experience in property management software; ex. Rent Manager, Yardi, Campspot, ManageAmerica, AppFolio, Buildium
- Boutique in size, but with the horsepower of a big company
