Assists breeder technicians/growers with program adherence, scheduling, training, and troubleshooting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::Must work with and solve contract growers' problems; establish a good working relationship between the contract growers and Case Farms. Educate the contract growers with current science, provided by Case Farms, to maximize breeder production. Will assist Breeder Technicians by covering for vacation/absences, troubleshooting various problems, verifying program adherence, introducing new programs/equipment/techniques to contract growers and Breeder Technicians, training of Breeder Technicians and Growers. Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives. Routinely visit farms (frequent travel). Properly document bird comfort, flock management, and equipment settings. Direct feed and light schedules. Monitor: bird health, egg production, body weight, conformation, monitor feed consumption. Pulling blood and fat samples promptly. Effectively coordinating bird placements to the farms and helping with catch schedules, while ensuring effective communication between Hatchery, Feed Mill, vaccination crews, and Live haul as it pertains to contract. Ensure the contract grower and the company complies with the production contract to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost ensuring quality performance. Ensure USDA and other government regulations are effectively followed when handling poultry. All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS ::Minimum 18 years of age. Bachelor's Degree in Poultry Science or a similar field preferred, or commensurate field experience. Valid Driver's License. Ability to work proactively, unsupervised, and be self-motivated. Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character. Basic math functions and skills. Computer skills including MS Word and Excel. The ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization must be able to lead a group of diverse individuals to achieve departmental goals and effectively drive management’s vision to all levels of operations. Detail-oriented, structured, and able to communicate effectively. Must possess demonstrated ability to work within timelines and in pressured situations. Strong problem solving, negotiating, and decision-making skills, excellent follow through on assigned tasks required for this position, must be able to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities. User-level experience with common problem-solving tools. Demonstrated leadership ability and strong communication skills. Must be able to follow workplace safety rules, including PPE, preventing, and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout Tagout procedures and process safety management related matters.

Work around raw, live animal odors. Work in a noisy environment (>85 decibels) and around moving equipment. Physical ability to travel to other Case Farms complex locations as needed.
