Senior CAD Director
A leading Engineering Firm in Florida is looking for a Senior CAD Director to join their team. This is an innovative and successful company specializing in Civil Engineering, Surveying and Mapping, Construction Engineering, Grants and Funding, and Design Planning.
The Senior CAD Director will provide design assistance, training, and guidance to a team of CAD Designers. The role will review engineering designs and work collaboratively with project managers, engineering teams, and other team members for the timely delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience reviewing the accuracy of CAD drawings and verifying customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities and ensuring drawings comply with project scope.
Key Responsibilities
- The primary responsibilities of the Senior CAD Director will be providing mentorship and guidance over the CAD design team.
- Oversee the use of CAD software, including establishing policies and best practices for productivity.
- Oversee the day-to-day output of CAD functions and ensuring project timelines are met.
- Interpret and incorporate design specifications, building codes, and other technical documents to produce accurate 3-D models.
- Collaborate with architects and engineer teams to resolve design challenges and ensure project feasibility.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback and project requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all drawings and documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technology.
Desired Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant CAD management experience within an engineering firm.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required!
- Previous experience in a management role guiding and mentoring junior designers.
- Previous experience recruiting new team members, training staff, and overseeing performance reviews.
- Strong understanding of building design, specification, codes, and structural analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
