You:
As a member of the R&D team you will join us on our journey to design and build one of the world's most advanced medical robotic platforms. You will have the opportunity to understand user needs, establish clinical and engineering requirements, consider clinical risks, and identify solutions to guide product development. This role offers high autonomy and growth opportunities within the team as we progress towards realizing our vision.
Performance Objectives and Responsibilities:
• Utilize in-depth clinical, technical, and design control knowledge to collaborate with a cross-functional team to discover, define, develop, and validate a new product
• Research relevant disease states, treatment options, patient pathways, surgical techniques, and competitive technologies
• Discover unmet clinical needs, establish customer requirements and provide clinical input to engineering design requirements
• Develop test models and test methods for clinically relevant product evaluations
• Collaborate with physicians and key clinical users on procedure development and understanding product feedback
• Create and document new product clinical use workflows, assess clinical hazards, and propose potential mitigations
• Develop a design validation testing strategy that ensures the product meets defined customer requirements Required Experience and Skills
• Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Biomedical, Mechanical, Systems)
• Have a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a medical technology company (Master's 4 years of experience or PhD 2 years of experience)
• Showcase a proven track record of effectively and clearly communicating concepts, ideas, and knowledge to other engineers and teams
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and in-depth knowledge of the medical device product development process
• Experience collaborating with physicians and collecting feedback on clinical use of the product
• Have a strong background in developing pre-clinical engineering studies to evaluate products
• Experience constructing customer and engineering design requirements and evaluating and assessing clinical hazards
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology and a strong understanding of anatomy
• Familiarity with clinical harms and performing clinical risk analysis
• Knowledge of endoscopic, laparoscopic procedures and operating room workflow
• Have the ability to travel up to 15% of the time, internationally and domestic

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $119,000 to $ 191,820. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
