Senior Communications Specialist Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to support a federal client in Springfield, VA. This role will require you to have an active TS/SCI clearance and to work onsite.
Senior Communications Specialist Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and execute a strategic communications plan and a program that will familiarize both internal and external customers with the capabilities and services the Communications Team can provide.
- Assist in the assessment of communications metrics and data to inform strategic communications decisions.
- Develop and edit briefings, project, and concept plans while assisting other members of the Communications Team.
- Draft Source Leadership speeches, talking points and executive-level communication products such as (but not limited to) leadership correspondence, briefings, and white papers and positions papers.
- Issue memoranda, briefings, design documents, as required.
- Plan, design, administer, standardize, coordinate, and deliver communications that support the business process.
- Assess communications metrics and data to inform strategic communications decisions.
- Advise stakeholders regarding strategic messages regarding support of mission priorities, goals, and accomplishments.
- Communicate strategic messages to key leadership officials within the agency and to key partners and members outside the agency.
Senior Communications Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A or B.S.) in communications or related field preferred.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in communications is required.
- Minimum of six (6) years of communications experience supporting a government agency is required.
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Advanced written communication, customer service, proofreading, and editing skills are required.
- Experience assessing communications metrics and data to support senior decision makers at the executive level for strategic communications decisions.
- Must have lead task team’s efforts.
- Experience with electronic publishing and the publication production process.
- Experience presenting oral and written communications to diverse audiences.
- Ability to make strategic level decisions in a team environment.
- Advance computer skills and proficiency on PC platforms using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience with basic product design principles.
