Brief Overview of Position:
STOPSO seeks a Senior Computer and Information Research Analyst to advance a federal customer's cybersecurity posture by developing and implementing Zero-Trust security frameworks. The Analyst will identify cybersecurity gaps, research vendors to address these needs, and facilitate leadership-vendor engagements to adopt the best solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of Zero Trust principles, technical research, vendor management, and leadership in cybersecurity enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Zero Trust models (identity-based access, network segmentation, monitoring, anomaly detection)
- Identify cybersecurity infrastructure weaknesses and prioritize them
- Evaluate and recommend third-party vendors and tools that align with Zero Trust principles
- Develop reports, recommendations, and presentations on solutions
- Organize vendor engagement events and liaise between the organization and external partners
- Stay updated on Zero Trust advancements and cybersecurity threats
- Seek automation and AI/machine learning opportunities to enhance security
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, business, communications, or a related field. Documented work experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis can replace the education requirement at a rate of 1 year to 1 year
- 8+ years of experience supporting information technology projects
- Strong understanding of identity management, least privilege access, network segmentation, and microservices architecture
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Active Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability
Preferred Qualification:
- Graduate degree in computer science, Information Technology, business, communications, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with Zero Trust technologies (e.g., multi-factor authentication, micro-segmentation tools, identity and access management solutions, encryption tools)
- Experience in vendor management or industry engagement activities
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI techniques for security analytics
- Certifications in relevant cybersecurity fields (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Sec+, or Certified Zero Trust Architect)
- Strong understanding of NIST and ISO 27001 standards, with experience applying these frameworks to enhance organizational security and compliance
- Prior experience supporting government customers
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical, research, and vendor management skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience with Zscaler, Zero Trust frameworks, and security standards
- Proficient in designing clear, engaging visual content and translating complex data into accessible charts and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- High emotional intelligence and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Strong initiative, sound judgment, and proven dependability in delivering results
Work Schedule:
- Hybrid work schedule: Up to 4 days per week remote work permitted
- Onsite work required: 1 day per week at a government office in Denton, TX
- Quarterly onsite requirement: 1 week per quarter
