Control Risks is looking for a highly driven and dynamic Senior Consultant to join our team, based in New York or Washington, DC. This role offers an exciting mix of client engagement, business development and strategic account management, all while collaborating with industry-leading experts to drive Control Risks’ ambitious growth trajectory.
As a Senior Consultant, you will:
- Drive strategic business development: Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities with high-profile clients and prospects on the East Coast, connecting them with Control Risks’ top-tier expertise in delivering tailored risk solutions.
- Champion our value proposition: Work closely with Control Risks’ service line leaders to develop compelling, buyer-focused growth strategies, ensuring that our value proposition resonates strongly in the market.
Tasks and responsibilities
Business development and brand building
- Promote, build and develop Control Risks’ portfolio of clients and brand in key strategic markets along the US East Coast.
- Develop consultative relationships with clients across Control Risks’ service lines.
- Collaborate with all Control Risks service lines to identify and pursue strategic client relationships and sales prospects. Provide client and competitive intelligence to support sales efforts across the business.
- Seek out and participate in marketing campaigns and events, generating and nurturing leads for future work.
- Increase sales effectiveness by maintaining and building knowledge of industry and regulatory trends.
- Collaborate with US Geomarket Leaders and the Sales Operations team to help drive business development activity.
- Act as a CRM and Sales Navigator super-user and advocate. Demonstrate leadership in connection with our sales data.
Account management and market growth activities
- Work with the Northeast and Southeast Geomarket Leaders to prioritize and ensure appropriate management of accounts and client targets along the entire East Coast.
- Act as a client account manager for select accounts.
- Support internal leadership in engaging with buyer communities across existing clients and prospects.
- Seize opportunities to onboard new clients and connect them with the appropriate contacts within Control Risks.
- Collaborate with Marketing to achieve a seamless end-to-end go-to-market approach.
Requirements
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- Five to seven years of client-facing experience in the professional services sector.
- An inquisitive nature and keen interest in international business dynamics and risks.
- Experience driving business development and generating leads through external channels and marketing campaigns.
- Proven business development skills, experience identifying and securing new clients, and a solid track record of increasing revenue within current/active client accounts.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior decision-makers and top corporate management in a variety of situations.
Preferred
- Experience in the risk consulting sector.
- Client-facing experience with law firms.
- Familiarity with regulatory risk and investigations, corporate security and private investors.
- Commercial experience in the New York tri-state and/or the Washington, DC area.

- Skilled at communicating with diverse audiences of varying degrees of expertise through written and oral presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent client-facing skills.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and project management skills.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in business, law or a related field.

The base salary range for this position is $115,000-$125,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
