Trusted business data is the foundation for Salesforce to know our customers, meet our business goals, and innovate with intelligence and AI capabilities. This role will support our Customer and GTM Data Strategy and will understand processes and policies that impact our data quality. The Senior Data Analyst will investigate the underlying causes of data issues and develop recommendations to enhance and expand Salesforce’s data, with a particular focus on hierarchy data.
You must excel in data analysis and problem-solving, draw insights from data, and clearly communicate findings to both business and technical stakeholders. You have experience working with large, complex data sets, have exceptional analytical skills, and excel in solving abstract problems. You are comfortable spending hours analyzing data sets in order to recognize trends and you must enjoy finding patterns in data. You must demonstrate an ability to be a self-starter and be prepared to roll your sleeves up to get the job done!
This is not a remote opportunity. This is a hybrid work environment with a minimum of 10+ days in office per quarter to collaborate and/or support our customers in our Indianapolis, IN office.
Responsibilities:
• Lead smaller scale data initiatives and support strategic data initiatives by performing complex data analysis using SQL, Excel, Salesforce Reports, Einstein Analytics and Tableau
• Investigate data problems and perform deep-dive analysis to help guide recommendations: this includes having the ability to analyze third-party data against internal data to determine the potential success of data enhancement projects
• Proactively QA your own work to ensure quality standards and requirements are met
• Iterate with data vendors/internal teams to automate and scale data management processes
• Understand business processes, the flow of data within and between processes, and recommend process improvements for better data quality and effectiveness
• Advanced ability to summarize trends found in data and communicate findings from complex analysis in simple terms and slides with sound rationale for recommendations
• Create clear and unambiguous business requirements that are easily understood by all functional teams involved
• Design data management solutions and partner closely with data engineering team(s) to automate them
• Create UAT test plans; participate in testing; report on and propose solutions for pass/fail test cases
Required skills & experience:
• 3+ years of data analyst experience
• Advanced knowledge of Excel or similar tool
• Proficient in SQL
• Superb communication skills, both verbal and written
• Flexibility to work across multiple time zones
• A related technical degree required
Preferred skills:
• Analyze, model, and interpret data
• Experience with Salesforce object model & SOQL
• Experience with customer hierarchy data
• Project Management experience
