JOB SUMMARY
- The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for all key tasks and functions of databases in a production environment. The DBA must be experienced in creating a database, expanding the size of a database, and implementing basic security and data integrity measures. The DBA also manages logical and physical storage devices and grants data access privileges to end users.

- Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Windows, Aix, Oracle, NT, SyBASE INFORMIX, SQL, systems.
- Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements as well as database backup and recovery.
- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data, including input and output, technology management.
- Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
- Technical experience with systems, networking, Active Directory, and user support.
- Strong Background in Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook and HTML.
- Excellent working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent working knowledge of Citrix, Active Directory and HL7 interfaces.
- Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
- Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
- Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
