About the Job
The Senior Director Field HEOR at Madrigal Pharmaceuticals will, in coordination and alignment with the Field Medical and Health Systems Teams, lead HEOR engagements with national and regional payers and large health systems critical to supporting and delivering the value proposition for Madrigal’s products
A member of the Madrigal GHEOR Team, the incumber will be a leader in economic and public health value propositions for US payer customers and will be largely responsible for generating evidence (RWE, comparative effectiveness, PRO’s, productivity, etc.) to inform population health decision makers with respect to the value of Madrigals product portfolio
The Senor Director will work closely and compliantly with HQ HEOR, Medical, Commercial, Market Access, Legal and Compliance, by providing HEOR leadership on key matters pertaining to medical, commercial, and access initiatives with population health decision making
Additionally, the Senior Director will play a keep role in building and maintaining key opinion leaders (KOL) and population health decision makers, to support the medical and HEOR strategy for Madrigals medicines.Position Responsibilities: In coordination and alignment with the Madrigal Field Medical, Health Systems and Access Teams, the incumbent:Develops and maintains clinical acumen related to disease-states of interest for Madrigal’s pipeline and marketed products.Identifies and engages key stakeholders within the payer verticals (Insurers, PBMs, GPOs, Specialty Pharmacy, and Provider Networks) with key HEOR data on Madrigals medicines.Establishes and maintains scientifically credible peer-to-peer scientific & collaborative research relationships with national & regional payers and managed care (e.g
Health plan P&T members, and formulary decision bodies).Establishes and maintains scientifically credible peer-to-peer scientific relationships with academic researchers in HEOR & policy.Leads collaborative customer outcomes research projects, provides input on HQ HEOR projects, and assists in the development and execution of HEOR/market access relevant activities (e.g., payer advisory boards, consultant, and HEOR projects).Champions FDAMA 114 content development and approval for use with payers, and train internal teams (field medical & Account Executives) for complaint use with relevant audiences.Provides impactful feedback/information to internal stakeholders on emerging payer formulary/coverage and reimbursing trends.Represents Madrigal on HEOR issues at national/global forums, conferences, and professional associations, including monitoring and communicating activities.Works with internal partners, e.g
market access, commercial and medical teams, and interacts with external consulting KOLs for collaborative HEOR studies.Defines and provides appropriate level of professional development and training for HEOR team and other interested internal stakeholders.Works with appropriate internal stakeholders to support Value-Based/Outcomes-based (VB/OB) metrics for payer customers.Qualifications and Skills Required:PhD in a relevant discipline preferred (e.g., health economics, medicine, pharmacy administration, public health, epidemiology)10-15 Years in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus in the HEOR fieldHands on experience working directly with commercial payers (regional & national), government payers (Medicaid and Medicare), and large health systems.Have a strong record of engaging and managing collaborative research with key stakeholders in population health managementHands on experience with HEOR methodologies across all phases of the product life cycle preferredTrack record of successful application of HEOR & RWE with key external stakeholders in major international marketsDemonstrates understanding and (advanced) knowledge of key drug development processes, plans, studies, and strategies including clinical, regulatory, scientific, operational, and commercial aspects of drug development.Uses knowledge to the organization’s advantage; generates new ideas and enables the organization to improve business performance.Demonstrates understanding and (advanced) knowledge of HEOR methods, AI, and RWD, and the issues and challenges of applying these alongside clinical studies in drug development
