The Sr. Director, HR Business Partner will provide a broad range of Human Resources expertise to support the achievement of business objectives of the WuXi AppTec. Acting as a partner to Senior Management, the incumbent will work closely with executives and other leaders to plan and execute strategic and tactical HR initiatives that are aligned with corporate and business unit goals. This position will report directly to the VP of Human Resources.
Responsibilities: Responsible to look at ATU from a high level and working with SVP on high level organization design
Responsible for Talen Management within the Sr Leadership Team and the ATU Business Unit
Close working relationship with Sr. Leadership of ATU. Mediates & resolves conflicts among SR Leadership Team as needed
Responsible for HR component of US & international M&A for ATU
Work with other ATU geographies, and help coordinate and assess organization design globally
Develops & monitors departmental budget for ATU Business Unit
Forecast needs for staffing/training/equipment/materials/supplies, prepares & presents to Sr Leadership Team, US & China as appropriate
Provides leadership & works with Sr Leadership Team to develop & retain highly competent staff through selection, comp & management practices
Prepares & presents staff reports & other necessary correspondence, prepares & presents oral & written reports to Sr Leadership Team and China Global
Headquarters
Provide leadership, direction & development to ATU HR departments
In collaboration with the SR VP oversee the develop, implementation & monitoring of the strategic action plan for ATU Business Units
Directs a process of organizational planning & development that evaluates structure, job design & human capital forecasting for ATU Business Units
Collaborates with US VP HR on Benefits, Recruiting, HRIS, Payroll to support & implement efficient & effective processes for HR delivery systems at ATU locations
Conducts effective meetings on high-impact, critical issues with Sr Leadership Team
Focuses on the overall change impacts regarding key business issues; takes full responsibility for HR results, keeping stakeholders properly informed of status,
issues & potential problems
Clarifies & handles multiple concurrent and diverse activities
Develops personnel management strategies for the SR Leadership Team to support ATU organizational business objectives and to increase accountability
Serve as a member of the Sr Leadership Team to drive US & ATU HR objectives and to provide advice and counsel to focus on creating innovative HR solutions
that support the business strategy
Accomplishes staff results by communicating updated organizational information, job expectations & supporting their work
Plans, monitors, and appraises direct reports including performance competencies, goals & job results
Coaches, counsels, and conducts disciplinary actions
Develops, coordinates, and follows organizational
Qualifications & Experience:
HS Diploma or equivalent required and
10+ years relevant experience and min 5 years Managing people
Bachelors’ degree preferred, or combination of relevant Experience & Education
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of Federal, state and local laws pertaining to personnel administration
and various compensation and benefit plans and practices.
Demonstrated success in employee relations, and performance management
Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
Need to be able to read, write and understand English
Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Travel is required 10% , Domestic/International, Daily / Overnight
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels
Must be able to work in Lab setting with Biohazards /various Chemicals
Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time
Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach
